A database of over 9500 paints from 29 manufacturers designed for modellers and artists.

Whether you paint or build model aircraft, ships, railway, cars, trucks, boats, figures, wargames (in fact anything!) this database is for you.

Contains paints from:

- Abteilung

- Ammo by Mig
- Andrea
- Army Painter
- Badger
- Citadel
- Floquil
- Hataka
- Humbrol
- Italeri
- LifeColor

- Model Master
- Monument
- Mr Hobby
- Privateer Press
- Railmatch
- Reaper
- Revell
- Scale75
- Tamiya
- Testors
- Vallejo
- Winsor & Newton

You can turn each manufacturer and range (e.g. Humbrol enamel) on or off at any time so that you see only the lists you want. You can save your own views so that you can set the lists you want to see and the order you want to see them quickly.

You can see details of each paint plus equivalent colours from all the included ranges. Or you can select to see equivalents from only the ranges you have switched on, the same medium or the same finish.

You can search across all the paints by colour, name, code, manufacturer, finish (e.g. gloss, matt), paint type (e.g. acrylic, enamel) and paints you have in stock.

You can create your own lists from any paints in the database. You can lock the lists (to save accidental changes) and these lists can be set as stock lists (you have these paints).

You can make notes against the list itself or the individual colours and you can sort the lists and colours any way you want.

Paints you have added to any of your stock lists are indicated in the ranges, the equivalents and the search results so you can see what paints you have when you do a search. Saves a lot of wasted money buying the same colours twice and handy when you go shopping (you can have a shopping list too)!

An invaluable reference database for any artist or modeller.

Pros and cons of Model Paint 42 app for iPhone and iPad

Model Paint 42 app good for

I use this a lot. I dont know of any other that has as much info. I would like to see Vallejo game colors and an easy way to mark the paints I have. This would be a big help when shopping. Also, but this may not be possible, an RGB listing for the colors.
I love this app hope to see Vallejo game color added to the database otherwise five stars all the way!

Some bad moments

Very easy reference for obtaining equivalent paint colors from multiple manufacturers. Would love to see more manufacturers and colors. 5 stars for app, 3 stars for amount of data.
This is a great App, for the modeler who needs to match paints from one brand to another! It needs to be enhaced with more brands, I emailed the developer and told him this, and he is considering it! So, its great to try it while he will do that... :))
After several years of active hobby-modeling, one can easily amass a huge collection of paint. In addition, it is possible to accidentally buy duplicate jars/bottles/pots of paint from the various manufacturers. This app allows the user to easily keep track of these paints in one convenient place. The app also has many great features as well. A user is easily able to turn entire ranges of paint on and off in seconds. This is perfect for new hobbists as well. A user can plan out projects by listing out his or her inventoried paints as well as create a wish list for paints that have yet to be purchased. Get this program today for only pennies! It is a worthy investment! Note to developer: before adding new manufacturers, it would be nice to have vallejo pigments added. Excellent, excellent job.
Its great to finally see such an accurate color app on any platform. So glad to see the new Citadel paint lines added so soon. Great for any miniature modeler and a big help when figuring out what paints are in my collection. this app is severely underrated and overlooked.
I love this app! I would rate it 5 star if there was the ability to create a shopping list.
I literally just paid the buck for this app so I could compare revell 78 with revell 69 so I could mix up my own colours to match (cause Im cheap) and while I with my trained eyes have a hard telling them apart (10% if variance) google has been no help in finding 69 I know this app will help with future projects so I can get them to match more accurately and be better (I relied on the description and a colour chart before) I think this app is certainly worth the buck but Id like to see the colours next to eachouther no white between so I can better compare with what I have and am doing
